I posted this comment on Facebook, but in case so...<br />I posted this comment on Facebook, but in case some readers go straight to this blog:<br /><br />I appreciate your analysis of our almost lost sense of a national identity that carried with it ideas of sharing and community. Very insightful. I think it connects to what we must do to resist incipient fascism - which appears to be upon us. For example, taking a stand to protect our vulnerable neighbors from deportation is about community and a sense of shared destiny: what happens to them could happen to us next. Another would be state level efforts to replace (or improve) vulnerable structures for the health and well being of all - such as state level universal health care.
